SDG 7: Affordable and clean energy

In line with the UN’s Sustainability Development Goal #7, WS Audiology’s Widex headquarters is a CO2-neutral solution. Opened in 2010, the building comprises a groundwater-based heating and cooling system, a 100-meter turbine, daylight-driven lighting, 14 electric car charging stations and 20,000 solar cells. Thus, we are able to produce 3.4 million kWh of energy per year and cut down on CO2 emissions by 70%.

Becoming more eco-friendly

  • (December 2020) WS Audiology has made a green deal with electric pioneer and leading taxi company in Denmark, Dantaxi, to act as WSA’s official taxi provider. Dantaxi has 200 electric vehicles and plans to convert its entire fleet of 2,000 by the year 2025.
Riding in electric taxis will lower WSA’s carbon footprint, as the company’s mileage for the year 2019 was a little over 34,100 km, with carbon dioxide emissions of around 13,9 t.
This green agreement is in line with our sustainability strategy to become more eco-friendly and lower our CO2 emissions. The WSA office in Lynge currently has 12 electric car parking spots with discounted charging stations, two guest parking spots with complimentary charging as well as its high-performance windmill and solar cells.
