30 Jun 2021

Press release
Lynge, Denmark, and Singapore, June 30, 2021 – WS Audiology today published its 2019-2020 Sustainability Report. Center stage are better hearing for more people, diversity & inclusion, and the environment. WSA has the ambition to become carbon neutral by 2025.

“We have set clear ESG and sustainability goals,” said WSA CEO Eric Bernard. ”We aspire to become the most environmentally friendly hearing aid company, the most diverse hearing aid company and the hearing aid company that serves the most people, doing more than anyone else to realize our purpose to bring wonderful sound to all.”

And he added: “As CEO of WS Audiology I feel the responsibility on my shoulders to make this all happen. I am grateful that the owners of WSA support and stimulate us to achieve our objectives as fast as possible. We owe this to our customers, our people, our families, our children. We must all change, and we must do it quickly. That is our commitment as WS Audiology, that is my personal commitment.”

In its sustainability report 2019-2020, WS Audiology sets out five priorities, all supported by concrete targets to be achieved in the years to come:

  1. Awareness: We make people aware of hearing health and hearing solutions that fit personal needs.
  2. Accessibility: We make it easy to get hearing solutions wherever people are.
  3. Affordability: We bring relevant hearing solutions to all people, through technology and commercial innovation.
  4. Diversity & Inclusion: We foster the inclusion of people with diverse views, opinions, and backgrounds.
  5. Environment: We take care of the planet we live on, and we will evolve towards circular business models.

WSA‘s global head of sustainability Chaojun Li commented: “ESG and sustainability are deeply anchored in WSA’s strategy and its culture. Our people feel strongly connected to it. They have chosen our company for its purpose to help all people achieve good hearing. They really care about diversity in all its facets. They want the company to take its responsibility to stop climate change and if possible, reverse it. That means circular business models and achieving carbon neutrality in a few years. We have a way to go but we are determined to do this. It is part of who we are.”
